The Best Website for Classroom Structure

The best website for classroom structure is http://www.lauracandler.com/strategies/caringclass.php.  Ms. Candler does a great job with stressing the importance of creating a caring classroom on the very first day of school.  Her ideas and strategies are good for grades second and third since most of them require the students to complete a behavior reflection form and work in teams; however, this could be tweaked for the lower grades.  I enjoyed reading the teambuilding and classbuilding activities which helps the teacher learn more about his/her students and helps to build a positive student and teacher relationship. She has the resources ready to print on her site which is great for busy teachers.

The Best Website for Classroom Organization

One website that I found on classroom organization was http://www.ourclassweb.com/sites_for_teachers_getting_organized.htm.  This website offered tips to teachers on how to organize their classroom.  Once again, being a visual person and having those wonderful and colorful pictures caught my eye.  Personally, I have problems with getting and staying organized.  I always start the year off organized, but then I have a problem with staying organized throughout the school year.  This is an outstanding site because Mrs. McDavid's tips are easy to follow and manage.  What I learned the most from her site is that labeling always helps teachers and their students to stay organized.  I also liked that she addressed hoarding and making sure that you spend time purging items by either sharing with other teachers or simply throwing them away.  That takes a lot of courage for us hoarders.  I am motivated to go into my classroom and get organized.

The Best Website for Classroom Arrangements

The best website for classroom arrangements is http://www.thevirtualvine.com/room.html.  I am a visual person, so the pictures really caught my attention.  I really liked the open space and visibility in the classroom.  The room is very inviting.  All of the materials are easily accessible for the young learners and they are also able to put the materials back in their place.  This site would be great for novice and seasoned teachers to arrange their classroom in a way that creates a student-learning environment.  Each area or space in the classroom is well defined and entices learning.

Best Website for Classroom Activities

The best website for classroom activities is http://teacherspayteachers.com.  This website was created for teachers to share their ideas and strategies in the classroom with other teachers around the nation.  I am currently a member and there are a wide variety of activities for all subjects and grade levels.  Membership varies depending on the types of resources you would like to download and many of the resources are FREE!  This site is outstanding for young learners because the teachers are creating the resources, therefore, they know exactly what is needed to teach the skills, concepts, and strategies.  Teachers can put in a request for resources and have another teacher to create them.

Hello, I just wanted to give blogging a try.  I really enjoy reading other teachers' blogs and I have always wanted to create my own.  Let's see how I do.
